Production of Scale Radio Controlled Hovercraft Models

Mark' paper took us through the process of designing and building a scratch built model hovercraft .

He described sources of information and scale effects. Dimensional effects were also described.

Taking us through the design process mark described the different types of hovercraft hull then used his latest model of the BH7 to illustrate the points.

Building the model was covered as different stages such as Hull, lift, propulsion then skirt.

Mark displayed several centrifugal fans as used on his models as well as a nifty magnetic hatch/superstructure latch. This is sold by Maplins as a battery connector and takes some pull to separate.

An excellent paper that really required more time so that some of the topics could be dealt with in greater detail.
