Stan's 539 Sqdn Royal Marines Hovercraft Model
The basic construction was completed by Tony and taken to the primer stage. Stan has painted the model and added the scale detail and crew.
The model started life as a standard Griffon but following our visit to 539 Squadron and the detail photographs we took it was decided to model one of the Squadrons machines.
When 75% built the shorter hull of the standard Griffon looked completely wrong for the 539 Sqdn machine so the hull was cut in two and 150mm cross section added to extend the length to correct scale.
