The model is based on Mark Porters document and is a 1/10 scale
Griffon 2000TDX MKII.
Construction is of light ply through out except the thrust duct which is 1/64 ply.
Dimensions are 1metre long x .5 metre wide and the weight complete is now 12lbs.
Lift motor is a cheap Johnson 680 running on an 8 cell 3000 Ni mi pack and controlled by an RF10 speed controller with reverse programmed off.
Lift prop is currently a 7x3 wooden prop cut down to 5.75 ins (140mm) and runs at 16000 rpm.
Thrust motor is also a Johnson 680 running on an 8 cell 3000 Ni mi pack and controlled by an RF10 speed controller with full forward and reverse.
Thrust prop is currently a 7x 3 wooden prop which runs at 14300 rpm.
Radio control is via a Futaba Skysport 6 on 40mhz and uses 3 channels, 1 for rudder and 2 for speed controllers.
Windows are glazed so air input ports on full size are replicated on the model.
The skirt is made from a rubberised nylon tent lining material, which is light but extremely strong and wears well against abrasion.
